    The All American Hall of Fame commemorates those members of the 82nd Airborne Division who have achieved the highest distinction through acts of combat valor, those leaders who have ushered in revolutionary change within the Division, and members of the All American Division who have had significant impact to American society beyond their time within the Division. 

    The All American Hall of Fame Class of 2020 members are:

    • Col. Julian A. Cook
    • Col. William Alexander Cunningham Jr.
    • Col. Delbert A. Kuehl
    • Capt. John R. Manning
    • Staff Sgt. Travis Mills
    • Col. Keith M. Nightingale
    • Brig. Gen. Ernest “Rick” Eric Porter
    • Command Sgt. Maj. Ron Rath
    • Command Sgt. Maj. Ron Regan
    • 1st Lt. John Samuel Thompson
    • Sgt. 1st Class Obie Boyd Wickersham
    • Maj. George “Chappie” Bartlett Wood Jr

    FORT BRAGG, N.C. - With a virtual passing of the colors, Maj. Gen. Christopher T. Donahue and Command Sgt. Maj. David R. Pitt assumed their new positions as the Commanding General and Command Sergeant Major of the 82nd Airborne Division during a change of command and responsibility ceremony June 10, 2020 at Fort Bragg, N.C.

    The duo replaced the outgoing command team, Maj. Gen. James Mingus and Command Sgt. Maj. Arthur (Cliff) Burgoyne.

    Lt. Gen. Erik Kurilla, commanding general of the XVIII Airborne Corps, presided over the ceremony, conducted without troops due to COVID-19 safety restrictions.

    You may receive a postcard mailer from the Association National office that looks like the photo here. I've received calls and seen quite a few posts asking if this is legit -- it is.

    This is another go-around by National to 1) get your updated contact info under the pretext of a "member directory", and 2) raise some funds off the sale of the hard copy book. They did the same thing a few years back.

    It doesn't cost anything to submit your contact and service info for inclusion in the book; only purchasing the book costs money, and that's optional. Just know that last time the book took quite a bit longer than expected to complete.

    MG James Mingus, current Commanding General of the 82nd Airborne Division, has served in that capacity since August 2018. DOD recently announced that MG Mingus will hand over the Division colors to MG Christopher Donahue at a date TBA. 

    MG Donahue is currently serving as Combined Joint Special Operations TF-Afghanistan.

    Very happy to announce the recipient of our 2020 John E. Hughes Chicago Chapter, 82nd Airborne Division Assn All-Airborne Scholarship: Cadet Nicholas Elish of Loyola University!

    Cadet Elish is a Criminal Justice & Criminology major who just completed his Junior year at Loyola with a GPA of 3.75. During his Junior year, he held the rank of Cadet CSM and was very active in the battalion. He completed Basic Airborne Training at Fort Benning in August 2019.

    The award included a cash scholarship and an Iron Mike. Please join me in congratulating Cadet Elish! We believe that Cadet Elish will make a excellent Army officer and represent our Airborne community All The Way.

    Thank to all Chicago Chapter members who voted, we look forward to continuing our scholarship program in 2021 -- AATW!

    Please join me in welcoming our newest Chicago Chapter member, Dave Hellrung of Highland Park, IL.

    Dave earned the rank of Sergeant and served with both HHC and A Company, 82nd Forward Support Battalion from 1995-1998. He was a 63B and Airborne qualified!
