Sad to announce the passing of Chicago Chapter Life Member Bernard "Barney" Janecki on 29 Sep 2022 at the age of 95. Barney was a long-time member of the 82nd Airborne Division Association and our Chicago Chapter.

Barney was drafted into the US Navy towards the end of WWII, then was drafted again in 1952 during the Korean War, this time by the Army. He volunteered for the Paratroopers and served with the 82nd Airborne Division from 1952-53.

He is interred at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, IL. May St. Michael show him the way to Heaven and an eternal reunion with his Chicago Chapter friends.
