Cadet Luke Jokerst of the local ROTC Rambler Battalion is the recipient of our first annual John E. Hughes Chicago Chapter 82nd Airborne Division Association All-Airborne Scholarship. The scholarship includes a $1,000 cash award, a one-year Annual membership in the Association, and an Iron Mike statue.
Cadet Jokerst is currently a senior at Northwestern University double-majoring in Biomedical Engineering and Psychology. He has a stellar 3.7 GPA and intends to continue both his educational at grad school and his military career as an Engineering Officer. Cadat Jokerst is Airborne-qualified.

The John E. Hughes Chicago Chapter – 82nd Airborne Division Association All-Airborne Scholarship recognizes annually one Airborne-qualified ROTC student for their military service and future contribution to our American society with a cash award to help them towards their goals.
About John E. Hughes:
John E. Hughes is a highly successful businessman and philanthropist, and also a proud military veteran. John served with the 13th and 82nd Airborne Divisions toward the end of World War II, qualifying as a Parachutist and Ranger-Pathfinder.
Over the decades, John has accomplished a great many things both personally and professionally, and exemplifies The Greatest Generation. Additionally, he has demonstrated extraordinary generosity to both our Chicago Chapter and the greater Airborne community. This scholarship is named after John in recognition of our sincere gratitude for all he has contributed as a patriotic American and a great example for all of us.
