AIRBORNE FAREWELL: John Hughes, 94

Our Chicago Chapter will perform an Airborne Farewell for Life Member John Hughes, 94, of Geneva, IL.  

John served as an Infantry NCO with the 515th PIR (13th Airborne Div) and the 504th PIR (82nd Airborne Div) from 1945-46. He earned the Parachutist Badge and completed Ranger-Pathfinder School.

John has been a very strong supporter of the Chicago Chapter and the greater Airborne and Infantry communities over the years. He has made generous donations to the Airborne & Special Operations Museum in Fayetteville, NC, and in 2011 was awarded the prestigious Order of St. Maurice by the National Infantry Association.

Airborne Farewell

All Chicago Chapter members are invited to participate in our Farewell on 02 Jun at 11:00 at St Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Evergreen Park, IL. The Farewell will last approximately 15-20 minutes, followed by military honors. Please arrive by 10:30 to prepare. 

Dress is Association Uniform (navy blazer, gray slacks/skirt, black shoes, black belt, and beret) or funeral appropriate.
