Chicago Chapter Charter Member John Condich, 93, has been called to his final manifest and will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery on 06 May 2016 at 13:00.
John served with H/507th PIR during WWII. He jumped in to Normandy on D-Day and was awarded the Silver Star for his actions that day; however was captured by Germans and spent the remainder of WWII in a POW camp. He stayed in the Army and later joined Special Forces, retiring as a CW4.
John's family invites his Airborne family and friends to attend the interment at Arlington. These details have been shared by John's family:
ARLINGTON FUNERAL DETAILS:
- Friday May 6th, 2016 at 13:00
- We will have limo bus service for all attendees to Arlington National Cemetery and will remain for the funeral (Leaving the hotel at 11:15 AM – no later). Limo will also transport back to hotel following Luncheon.
- Luncheon to follow (TBD but either at The Officer’s Club at Ft. Meyer or at a local restaurant)
- If you are NOT leaving from Hotel, you must meet at the Arlington National Cemetery Administration building 45 mins prior to the funeral (http://www.arlingtoncemetery.mil/Visit/Getting-Here/Directions )
